This past week, Dr. Greg McGrew ΙΔ 167 visited Tegucigalpa, Honduras to provide eye care to those in need in an area of rampant poverty. A group from his church provided dental, vision, and health care along with a children's program, spiritual guidance, and home improvements for the poorest folks in the capital city of Honduras. Brother McGrew attended high school in Fairfax County and was an honors student at James Madison University. He graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1985.

Service is nothing new for Brother McGrew. He is active in several professional organizations, including the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, and has served as President of the Virginia Academy of Optometry. Brother McGrew has been involved in the community as an adult leader for the Boy Scouts of America, as a youth leader at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and as a member of the Kiwanis Club. He participates in local programs that provide eye care for the financially disadvantaged, the visually handicapped, and HIV/AIDS patients. He has participated in free medical care clinics in Honduras, southwestern Virginia and in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. His two children are both JMU graduates. Thank you Brother McGrew for your service to others!
